Edmonds 4th of July Celebration

My family has been attending parts of the Edmonds 4th of July event for decades.  My girlfriends family has a long standing tradition of getting downtown early and placing their chairs and blankets in the same spot each year.

Last year we brought all the kids down for the Main Parade. We had heard that Edmonds was not allowing you to bring chairs to hold your spot until after 5pm on July 3rd, this year it is after 6pm. I was not able to get down to the parade route until about 9pm. That was a little late as all the good locations were already taken. I was still able to find a spot and placed out 6 folding chairs along the parade route.

The next day the kids had a blast. They got a ton of candy and were asked to participate and dance with the parade.

I have not participated in the Beat Brackett 5K… maybe next year :)

The firework show is not quite at the level of Gasworks park, but it is a well done show with music and a grand finale. Again, there will not be a Firework show this year due to construction.

We might be heading over to the Lake Ballinger Firework show this.  See you there next year and happy 4th of July.
